I used to be so blindly trusting of all of The Institutions. Doctors were all dedicated and caring, the media told the truth objectively, the justice system was fair, politicians (and presidents, ahem) were public servants who were earnestly trying to help society. And then I turned eight. I guess we look for the gems and appreciate them all the more. I guess?
